How often should I change my oil?
We recommend every 3,000 miles. Some vehicle manufacturers have extended the recommended oil change interval with Full Synthetic Oil. This is okay, but for most cars, we still recommend 3,000 miles. If you do not drive 3,000 miles a year, we recommend having the vehicle in at least once a year for a routine check-up.
When should I change my timing belt?
Most manufacturers recommend between 60,000 and 100,000 miles to change the timing belt on your vehicle.
How often should I rotate my tires?
Tire rotation is recommended about every 5,000 to 10,000 miles depending on the vehicle. We also recommend having your tires balanced when rotated.
My Check Engine light or Service Engine Soon light is on. What does that mean?
When your Check Engine or Service Engine Soon light is on, the vehicle’s computer has flagged a problem with your emissions-related system. Without physically checking the car, we can’t tell you what is wrong, but you should get it in for a checkup as soon as possible.
I have a yellow or red ABS light on. Does that mean my brakes don’t work right?
If your ABS light comes on, this means that something in the ABS (anti-lock brake system) has failed. Your ABS brakes will not work. The ABS is the pulsation you feel in your brake pedal when you stop on a slick surface. ABS braking helps you maintain control of the vehicle in slippery conditions. It will pulsate the brake pedal so the brakes don’t lock up and you can still steer the car.
My car does not go straight when I let off the wheel. What is wrong?
There are multiple reasons a car does not track straight. We recommend having your car’s Alignment checked with our state-of-the-art Computerized Alignment Machine. Alignment checks and printouts showing the alignment of the wheels is free.
Do you charge to look at my vehicle and tell me what is wrong?
Yes, there is a diagnostic fee. There is a difference between estimates and diagnostics. We give free estimates, not diagnostics. This means if you want to know how much something costs to have fixed, we will tell you. Email us or give us a call and we can give you a rough idea of the cost. We can not tell you exactly the price without having the vehicle at our shop and diagnosing it ourselves.
Do you sell tires?
Yes, we sell tires and handle all the name brands. We are a Cooper Tire dealer. Cooper offers the best tires on the road today. We also offer other brands, such as Michelin, Goodyear, BF Goodrich, Uniroyal, Yokohama and many more. We have good deals on tires. Email or call us for a price quote. We also recommend having your alignment checked whenever you put new tires on. We don’t want your new tires to wear out prematurely. If you have had tires put on somewhere and would like to have your alignment checked, come in for a free alignment check and visual printout.
